Spiritual Sunday: It is all about Pride

When things are in kind of a mess
Look deep and assess
you will find that it is all about Pride
It is because the 'I' in me is greater than God wants it to be
the rightful place
abidding in His Love and Will
*
Create in me a pure heart, O God
and renew a steadfast spirit within me.
Do not cast me from your presence or take your Holy Spirit from me.
Restore to me the joy of your salvation and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me.

A simple Prayer

Have mercy on me, O God
according to your unfailing love
according to your great compassion
blot out my transgressions
wash away all my iniquity
and cleanse me from my sin

Create in me a pure heart, O God
and renew a steadfast spirit within me
Do not cast me from your presence
or take your holy spirit from me
restore to me the joy of your salvation
and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me.

You do not delight in sacrifice, or i would bring it
You do not take pleasure in burnt offerings.
The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit;
a broken and contrite heart
O God, you will not despise.

Spiritual Sunday: Rationalise it Not

When disaster happens, many will try to rationalise it.

Some have quoted an ancient chinese verse that says
great things will often come after great trials.

天将降大任于斯人也
必先苦其心志 劳其筋骨
饿其体肤 空乏其身
增益其所不能

For me personally, I do not understand why the twin asian disasters happen and will not try to rationalise it. Often than not, it is beyond human understanding.
What we can do is to help them by one way or another to rebuild their homeland.

Spiritual Sunday: Keep on Praying

"Rejoice in our confident hope. Be patient in trouble and keep on praying. Rejoice with those who rejoice, mourn with those who mourn" (Romans 12:12, 15)

I thank God for those whom are rescued from the disasters in SiChuan, China and Myanmar. I rejoice with them (and their family) that they are given another chance at life.

I mourn for those were displaced in the disasters and pray for their families - that they will find comfort, strength and hope.

Please continue to pray with me that the missing people be found and rescued and those who are injured received medical treatment and supplies in time.

Do not underestimate the power of prayers especially when the faithful prays together.

My heart goes out to the people of China affected by the Sichuan Earthquake.

Let's pray together, for the survivors of Sichuan Earthquake.

Pray that the rescue work be smooth,
Pray for good weather for the rescue.
Pray that more people be rescued from the debris.
